Homestay Rates

Here is a list of our current homestay accommodation weekly rates for your information and reference. These rates are applicable to single bookings of fully-furnished guest rooms in hosted homestays in the Brisbane area where guests are aged 18 years and over. Homestay Rates (single guest, 18+):

Room & 3 meals per day, breakfast, lunch & dinner: from AUD$250.00 per week 

Room & 2 meals per day, breakfast & dinner, Mon-Fri, lunch on weekends: from AUD$230.00 per week

*Room-only: from AUD$150.00 to AUD$190.00 per week

^Drop-off & Pick-up allowance: from AUD$50.00 per week

*guest self-caters - buys own groceries & prepares own meals, at own expense; may be hosted or independent accommodation
^for children who need to be transferred to and from school Monday to Friday

The rates shown are for fully-furnished guest rooms in hosted homestays (hosted by the main resident family of the dwelling.) "Fully-furnished" means that guest rooms must include as a minimum: a single bed, desk, chair, lamp, storage space for guests' clothing, books & personal items. Bed linen and bath towels should also be provided by the host family to their guests. The guest room must be attached and interior to the main dwelling, must not be a partitioned room, and must also have at least one external window and one internal lockable door.

The rates for other guests (children, couples, families, groups, etc) vary according to things like the number of meals required, transport requirements, guardianship and the education provider's fee specification.

Homestay fees are usually payable by Homestay Experience to the Host's nominated bank account by internet transfer fortnightly for the duration of stay. Payments for members of Study Tour Groups are usually disbursed by Homestay Experience on a fortnightly basis. The payment method is specified upon confirmation of any placement. 

When we contact you about a guest from any of these categories, we will provide you with a guest profile which will include the specified weekly rate. You will then have the opportunity to accept or decline their request, as you are under no obligation to accept any guest at any time.
